We took our favorite Christmas songs
I did some acapella recordings with just some old go go funk samples
We recorded with the band late September
Put down ten tracks with the help of fantastic drummer Eric Bodin and the rest of the Wefunky Band
We did all the extra vocals at my home studio in Johanneberg, Gothenburg
My brother Topsteen did his magic, working day and night
And finally late October the album was finished.
I never think I have done such a fast recording of an album, but it was fun, and also almost twenty years since Torsten and I worked together. (even though we did work on my album Airborne 2010).
We wanted to put some organ filled go go funk feel to the Christmas songs.. inspired by Chuck Brown and Washington Dc, but also Sinatra and those other cats we admire. I feel we added some nice Christmas spice and funky touch to those old songs..
A merry funk Christmas!
